"The fifth of November became the day, far more than any anniversary of the Armada, on which God had saved the Protestant England from the forces of darkness."(pg.110) as in most time periods there is always a specific time that will be marked for a long time in history, which will have an effect in the culture. As the text mentions, in England this date was November 5th, 1606, a time where religions protested against each other. It was a terrible time for segregation between ethnic groups, and people weren't tolerant with other people from different cultures and backgrounds.(ch.6) This was not only seen back then, but also today where many people just accept people from their own culture. This mainly happens when people from other religions or cultures try joining another one. This is not seen so frequently, but it happens, and also people don't speak about these types of situations. As this occurs, many people are not as conscious about this as they were in that time. In a way people will be affected by these types of situations and it will impact the history of the country. It will also change people's beliefs, as it might also fortify them in some ways. These sort of events will always have an impact on the people and the history of a culture, even if people don't want these things to happen.
